HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
a film by RICK HANCOX 1978
A crowded train station during the holidays, tipsy passengers partying in the dining car, and the fun and warmth of a family celebration... all come vibrantly to life in this poetic 70s autobiographical documentary. Director Rich Hancox captures the moment in freewheeling 16mm cinéma-vérité, enhanced with a self-penned country ballad (“Christmas Just Won’t Be the Same Without You Here”) and a distinctly personal – and Canadian – flavor.
